EMERGENCY TIPS

EMERGENCY TIPS

A ROAD SIDE EMERGENCY CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME - WE'VE COMPLIED A FEW TIPS TO KEEP YOU SAFE.

Knowing what's best to do in the event of an emergency situation is invaluable for the safety of both you and your vehicle - Review the tips we've included here:

  1. If you have been in a vehicle accident and are in need of emergency medical services- PLEASE CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY!
  2. If your vehicle breaks down, you will need to get it off of the road, away from other moving vehicles quickly. Merge to the side of the road, emergency lane, or shoulder to avoid traffic.
  3. In the event of an accident or break down, do not exit your vehicle until you have gotten to a safe area. If you are unable to get to a safe area, exit and move away from your vehicle with extreme caution.
  4. Never stand behind or directly in front of your vehicle.
  5. Be mindful that all small children and pets have been removed from the vehicle during a road side emergency. DO NOT allow small children or pets to stay in or near the vehicle.
  6. ALWAYS ASSUME THAT DRIVERS ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION OR CANNOT SEE YOUR VEHICLE.
  7. Be prepared with an emergency supply kit. Equip your vehicle with items such as a first aid kit, extra water, non-perishable snacks and emergency repair supplies.
  8. Get to know your emergency repair supplies. Knowledge about the use and location of your vehicle's repair supplies can make all the difference in your emergency road side experience. Emergency repair supplies entail general tools, a spare tire, jack, and jumper cables.
  9. Utilize items such as vehicle hazard lights, cones, signs and flares to increase your visibility in both day and night situations.
  10. Be cautious when accepting assistance - It is best to call a professional, family member, or close friend. Although a passerby may attempt to be helpful, accepting assistance from an untrained individual may potentially result in damage to your vehicle that you could be held liable for.

WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF US

"Ken was extremely helpful, my sister was in need of help and Stonewall Towing was fast, efficient, and so very kind. It's nice to have a kind person when you're feeling down about your car not working. Highly recommend!"

"Waited 3 1/2 hours for AAA to send a tow truck. I was stranded on a two lane country road in the dark. I looked for service on my own and was so lucky to find Stonewall. The owner, Ken rescued me 15 minutes after my call. Took me to a motel in a near by town and assured me I would be safe. So disappointed in AAA. Thank you, Ken!"
